The Housing Specialist is responsible for directing clients to the best funding source for home improvements, including in-house loans, the in-house Minor Home Repair (MHR) program, and loans and grants from external funding sources, and for administering applications for these programs. The Housing Specialist also underwrites in-house loans, presents loan packages to Loan Committee, and works with Loan Committee and Loan Team staff to develop new loan products and improve current products and services. The Housing Specialist is also responsible for leading Post Purchase Education Classes and Events.

Black Rock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Services (BRRNHS), Inc. has been awarded a Buffalo Main Streets Initiative (BMSI) grant of $300,000.00 from the Better Buffalo Fund to fund needed repairs and improvements to commercial properties in Black Rock’s Amherst Street target area. The project's scope will include interior and exterior renovations consistent with historic standards and local preservation guidelines and BMSI criteria to be completed within a two year grant period that ends July 25, 2020. Grant administrative services are being sought to execute this initiative.
